This year Brian McKearney, President of LTC Consulting has begun personally conducting free educational
seminars for seniors throughout New England at Council on Aging establishments, Independent Assisted
Living Facilities and other senior servicing institutions. The response has been outstanding. Seniors
attending Mr. McKearney's free seminars can learn about Medicaid guidelines, state regulations, estate planning,
how to protect themselves against scams, FHA Reverse Mortgages, and Non-Securities retirement investment
plans. Seminars run about 45 minutes followed by a question and answer period.
LTC Consulting's list of free seminars being conducted in 2011 are:
- Senior Scam Awareness Seminar - Extremely educational regarding scams targeting our seniors, how identity theft occurs, protecting credit cards, and much more.
- Long-Term Care - Education on Medicaid Regulations, Spend-down Guidelines, Estate Recovery Bills, Nursing Home Operation Procedures, Insurance Plans and so much more. Definitely a category many seniors find educational and said to be an "eye opener".
- Estate Planning for Seniors - Techniques in proper estate planning, probate court procedures, inheritance, difference between Revocable & Irrevocable Trusts, and more.
- Retirement Investing for Seniors - The difference between Securities & Non-Securities, monitoring of investment accounts, consolidation of investments, difference between qualified & non-qualified accounts, Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), safe investing, and so much more.
- Advance Planning - A combination of Long-Term Care & Estate Planning seminars. This is designed to educate seniors why it is important to prepare an estate from the possibility of liquidation for the cost of medical expenses.
